MARINE CORPS MCO 10520.3 B FLAG MANUAL

Indoor / Parade Marine Corps flags are available in nylon or rayon and feature a pole sleeve with a flannel liner and a leather tab sewn inside the sleeve. The tab attaches to a hook or screw a top of the parade or display flagpole to keep the flag from sliding down the pole. Indoor and parade flags are finished with two-inch gold rayon fringe. Flags are USA made to Institute of Heraldry (TIOH) specifications and MCO 10520 regulations. Guidons are made in nylon only.

3x4 ft and 3x5 ft indoor/parade flags are typically displayed on either 7 ft or 8 ft poles. 4'4" x 5'6" flags are typically displayed on 9 ft poles. Poles are available in polished hardwood and either silver or gold anodized aluminum. Indoor floor stands are available in either weighted ABS plastic or cast metal in gilt, brass or chrome finishes. Flagpole finials for indoor / parade poles are available in brass or chrome metal finishes.

"The Marine Corps Organizational Flag shall be rayon banner or nylon, 66 inches on the fly by 5.2 inches on the hoist, exclusive of headings and fringe. It shall be made of either single ply of rayon banner cloth or single or double plies of lightweight nylon scarlet cloth. On the outer side of each ply, will be appliquéd machine embroidered components of the Marine Corps insignia, consisting of spread eagle, globe and fouled anchor, with flowing motto ribbon containing in 3d-inch letters, the words Semper Fidelis" in the beak, of the eagle and a flowing scroll. The fringe shall be hand- )knotted 2 1/2-inches wide, of golden-yellow color, and trimmed on three sides of the standard. The 2-inch lettering on the 3 1/4-inch flowing scroll shall indicate the name of the organization, United States Marine Corps, except when streamers are authorized, each standard shall have attached below the spearhead of the staff a cord of scarlet and yellow threads approximately 3/8-inches in diameter and 8 feet 6 inches in length, with a tassel at each end."
