FLAG DESCRIPTION / HISTORY
The Washington Commander in Chief flag, personal position standard of General George Washington, consists of 13 six pointed white stars on a blue field, three rows of three stars and 2 rows of two stars. The points of the stars on the original flag are not all pointing in the same direction. The original flag was also closer to square than rectangular, 27 1/2 inches by 35 1/2 inches, similar to a US Navy Jack. The date(s) of the orignial flag are not certain; somewhere between 1777 and 1784.
